Terms & Conditions

The “seller” is defined as the legal entity N.O. Cakes R Better.  The “buyer” means the person (legal or natural) who buys the goods.  “Goods” is defined as the items to be supplied by the seller to the buyer as listed in the invoice.

General

These terms and conditions shall apply to the sale of the goods by the seller to the buyer to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions referred except where the seller has agreed to such variation in writing and by way of signature.  By ordering from N.O. Cakes R Better you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and accept that these conditions may be modified or amended and posted on this website from time to time.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to return the cake stand(s) after hire to the stated address within 3 working days.  The deposit will not be refunded in the event that the stand(s) is/are damaged, or returned after 3 days.  We are not liable for any damages that occur to the cake stand before we receive it back.  Once the stand is returned within the given time frame and we are satisfied that it is not damaged, we will issue a refund to the buyer.

Deposits vary dependent on the stand hired and will be confirmed on selection.

Payment & Deposit

We require a 50% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit to order and hold the date.  Please note that orders are not confirmed until this is in place.  The remaining 50% is due a minimum of 1 month before the date of the event.  We reserve the right to cancel orders where payment is not received by this deadline, or impose a late payment fee of £25.  All delivery outside of a 3 mile radius from SE6 will incur a delivery charge and must be prearranged.  Cakes cannot be collected or delivered until full payment is made in cash or bank transfer.

By making a deposit payment, the buyer is accepting the terms and conditions as detailed on this page.

Refunds & Cancellations

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances* due to any loss of business arising from turning away other bookings on that date.

Full payments made less than 4 weeks in advance of the delivery date are non-refundable.  Full payments made more than 4 weeks in advance of the delivery date are subject to a cancellation fee of 25% of the total order if cancelled more than 4 weeks in advance of the delivery date.  We cannot refund the cost of any orders cancelled with less than 4 week’s notice.

*In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for any reason, then we will give you as much notice as possible and discuss the matter with you and try to agree a suitable alternative.  If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the full price to you. 

*If there is a nationwide lockdown, we will also be happy to move the booking to another date but we will be unable to refund any orders.

Refunds after the cake has been accepted

Refunds requested due to decorating style, colour shade or general decoration design afterwards, will not be accepted. If you are unhappy with any of the design factors upon pickup, we may be able to make adjustments subject to our discretion and the design of the original product.

Refunds requested due to quality or flavour will only be determined at the discretion of our staff, and based upon the returned cake (at least 80% of the cake must be returned). We are unable to provide a refund on a cake that has been consumed or less than 80% of the cake was returned.

We only give refunds in accordance with refund policies stated above and within 48 hours. N.B. All refunds are given as store credit. No cash refunds.

Quotations & Alterations

All price quotations, written or verbal, are valid for 30 days from the date of the quotation.

If you have any queries or need to make any changes to an order please contact us immediately.  Alterations and amendments must be submitted in writing.  We will assess the request for an alteration, and endeavour to make alteration where possible, dependent on the design and the  amount of notice given.  We will let you know its effect on the price and any agreed timetable.

Accepting alterations it at the discretion of the seller.  Alterations requested less than 4 weeks before completion may be subject to a surcharge.  It is the buyer’s responsibility to check any quotes and invoices  thoroughly before making payment.  We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control compromise the quality of the finished product e.g. Weather conditions.  The buyer will be notified of any such changes and we will endeavour to keep any changes minimal.

Allergies

Please note we are not an allergen free kitchen. If you have a severe allergy you must please state this before ordering from us. Although we can make Gluten free, dairy free and nut free cakes we cannot guarantee of any traces of these allergens in the kitchen. Although we do our best to keep all surfaces free of these allergens, when we bake these allergen free cakes we cannot guarantee of any traces that may be found in the kitchen and in the air.
